Gorgeous Gorse Hill Needs You

The Gorgeous Gorse Hill project came about through a few local residents discussing how the area could be improved; having spoken to our neighbours, friends and other local residents it’s clear that a lot more people feel the way we do.

Gorgeous Gorse Hill is a large and ambitious project, there’s no two ways about it; the few of us who are currently involved cannot manage on our own. We need you, your friends, your neighbours, your kids, your employers and most of all your energy and love for Gorse Hill!

So what can you do? We know that everyone is busy and can’t always commit to lots of activity, but if everyone does what they can manage, what they love, what they are interested in and what they are good at collectively we can make Gorse Hill gorgeous.

So what can could you do?

Local children and local youth groups – would you like your design on display, for thousands of people to see, on one of the roller shutters or utility boxes throughout the area? – then let us know! We are looking for young people to design an image based on local nature, that may be chosen to decorate one of the many roller shutters in Gorse Hill.

Gardeners, allotment holders and those with green fingers – could you grow some cuttings, spare seeds, use your skills to help plant areas around Gorse Hill, advise about sustainable planting or just get your hands dirty?

Art lovers and those who just like to get creative and colourful – do you want to get involved in decorating shutters, utility boxes, bollards or safety railings. Or could you design posters to promote the project around the local area?

Even if none of the above appeal to you but you’re great at writing funding bids, you might know local businesses, have ideas for more ways to improve Gorse Hill, or want to get involved: please get in touch!

You can reach us via email: gorgeousgorsehill@gmail.com, Facebook or Twitter, we are really keen for as many of the Gorse Hill community to get involved as possible!
